Oticon Zeal

Invisible, Full-Featured Design
Always-On AI Processing
Rechargeable All-Day Power

A discreet, rechargeable in-the-ear hearing aid with always-on AI sound processing and full Bluetooth connectivity — no trade-offs required.

For a long time, patients who wanted a nearly invisible hearing aid had to accept meaningful trade-offs — smaller batteries, no rechargeability, limited connectivity, and reduced processing power. The Oticon Zeal changes that. This in-the-ear hearing aid fits deeply and discreetly in the ear canal, yet delivers the same advanced AI sound processing found in Oticon's premium receiver-in-canal devices. It's designed for adults who want effective hearing technology that goes unnoticed without sacrificing the features that make modern hearing aids worth wearing. At Hearing Doctors of the Heartland, we carry the Oticon Zeal across all of our Iowa and Illinois locations.

What the Oticon Zeal Offers

Patients considering the Zeal often want to know how a device this small can deliver this much. The features below reflect what sets it apart from other in-the-ear options.

  • BrainHearing™ Technology — Oticon's core sound processing philosophy, which gives the brain access to a full, balanced sound scene rather than filtering heavily before sound reaches the auditory system, reducing the mental effort required to listen
  • Second-Generation Deep Neural Network (DNN 2.0) — Always-on AI sound processing trained on millions of real-world audio samples, delivering up to 6 dB improvement in signal-to-noise ratio for better speech understanding in noisy environments
  • Rechargeable Battery — Up to 20 hours of battery life per charge; a 15-minute quick charge provides 4 hours of use, and a 30-minute charge provides 8 hours
  • Bluetooth LE Audio Connectivity — Streams directly from smartphones (iOS and Android), tablets, PCs, televisions, and Apple Watch®; Auracast™ compatibility allows connection to compatible public venue broadcasts
  • Same-Day Fitting Option — Zeal can be fit with domes at the initial appointment, eliminating the wait time typically associated with custom in-the-ear devices; custom micro-molds are also available for patients who prefer or require them
  • Encapsulation Durability — Internal components are sealed in protective resin with no hollow spaces, which reduces moisture and mechanical damage risks compared to traditionally assembled in-the-ear devices

Is the Oticon Zeal Right for You?

The Zeal is designed for adults with mild to moderately severe hearing loss — roughly up to 65 dB HL with dome fittings, and extending toward the lower end of severe with custom micro-molds, depending on hearing loss configuration. It's a strong fit for first-time hearing aid users who have delayed getting help due to concerns about appearance, as well as experienced wearers who want to move into a more discreet style without giving up connectivity or AI processing. Active, working-age adults who need something reliable throughout a full day tend to find it particularly practical.

At our clinics, every hearing aid fitting includes Real Ear Measurements — a verification step that confirms your hearing aids are programmed specifically for your ear anatomy and hearing loss, not a manufacturer average. Research from the American Academy of Audiology indicates that only about 30% of hearing practices routinely perform this step. We consider it a standard part of every fitting, and it's one reason our patients tend to adjust more successfully and get more consistent results from their devices.
