ReSound Sensia

Hears the voice you are facing
No program switching
Auracast working today

A premium rechargeable hearing aid that automatically focuses on the person you are facing, keeping conversations clear in noisy places without changing programs.

The ReSound Sensia is GN Hearing's new premium hearing aid family, built to help you follow the conversation you are facing rather than the loudest voice in the room. At its top technology level, Sensia recognizes when background noise is making conversation hard and steps in on its own, without you stopping to select a special program. We fit ReSound Sensia at Hearing Doctors of Iowa and Hearing Doctors of Illinois.

Three Technologies, One Automatic Program

ReSound calls Sensia's automatic program Intelligent All-Around, and it brings together three systems. AcoustIQ classifies your sound environment and decides which features to engage. A four-microphone beamformer, which uses the microphones on both hearing aids to form a narrow listening zone in front of you, gives priority to speech in the direction you are looking. DNN denoising, a deep neural network trained to separate speech from competing sound, then reduces the voices and distractions around the person you are talking with.

In quieter places both hearing aids stay open to the sound around you, and the processing narrows only as noise rises. When the background contains no speech at all, such as a fan or a vacuum, Sensia switches to ReSound's established Noise Tracker II system instead, since a speech-trained network has little to work with there.

Key Features of the ReSound Sensia

For patients who struggle most in restaurants, family gatherings, and other noisy rooms, these features shape everyday listening.

  • Automatic Hearing in Noise: At technology level 9 in the rechargeable microRIE, Sensia combines its beamformer and DNN automatically when conversation gets difficult, with no program switching in the app.
  • Focus That Follows Your Gaze: Prioritizes the person you are facing while keeping lower-pitched sound from around you, so you stay aware of where sounds are coming from.
  • Better Ear Strategy: In moderate noise, one hearing aid becomes more directional while the other keeps broader awareness, letting your brain combine the two naturally.
  • Auracast and Bluetooth LE Audio: Auracast works at launch rather than waiting on a future update, so you can join broadcasts in theaters and public venues through the ReSound Smart 3D app.
  • Rechargeable, All-Weather Design: Rated for at least 24 hours per charge and up to about 30 depending on use, with IP68 protection against dust and moisture.
  • Options for Every Ear: Available in microRIE, standard RIE, and custom in-ear styles, plus CROS for single-sided hearing loss and bimodal models for Cochlear Nucleus implant users.

What to Expect in Everyday Listening

Sensia is deliberately patient. It looks for a steady pattern of conversation before engaging its strongest processing, which can take about a minute, so it does not jump between modes every time a sound changes. It also works best when you face the person you want to hear, and it does not switch to music automatically, because it cannot know whether you came to a jazz club for the band or the friend across the table. A dedicated music program handles that choice.

Features also differ by model. Automatic DNN processing is limited to the level 9 microRIE, level 7 offers it through a manually selected program, and custom models use directional processing without DNN at launch. That is why we match the technology level to your hearing and daily routine, fit every major manufacturer, and verify each fitting with real ear measurement.
